The Myspace.Com Handbook

Book Review by: earlyesther

Original Author: T. Brian Chatfield
If you are American teenagers and you said that you didn’t know MySpace, it means you are not “truly” American. MySpace has
been the largest online social hub in U.S.A. and now this site is expanding worldwide. One reason why MySpace become so popular is because this site enables the users to multitask. A user can write posts, play online game, have a chat, search favorite music, and even, watch TV.
Unfortunately, there are some users who have misused the excellence of MySpace. The odds are this wicked action has made MySpace no longer “my space”. Who ever realize that our online daily habit, such as blogging and online chatting, has another dark side? And who has ever realized that those online activities might lead a child to commit suicide? What went wrong actually?
That’s exactly where T. Brian Chatfield’s “The MySpace.com Handbook” comes in. It’s a book about safety – safety that comes by knowing the circumscription and how to do the right thing in this site. But this book is not only pointing out problems. It is full of specific and executable solution on how to do that. Everything is explained step by step: from the process of signing up and adjusting “our space”, how to behave and communicate in MySpace, until the endless possibility of developing this site in the future. This is one book that covers it all.
“The MySpace.com Handbook” is undoubtedly a different way of looking at social interaction, one that makes it all too clear that small acts sometimes have great consequences. Obviously, this book is a must read for parents of American teenagers but its lessons would prove beneficial to almost anyone who wants to dig deeper on MySpace.
