Led Zeppelin are fund raising and have given a benefit and raised a lot of money some of which will go to assist young people
from Turkey and of Turkish ancestry to continue their education!
Led Zeppelin are a major Rock Band and I have read quite a bit about them over the last few years here in Southampton but must admit that so much of it is in the past that one tends to think they must be what the media refer to as "a great band"
However, Led Zeppelin like many another great bands have had this amusing light hearted look at them empasised here by Turkish blog - and they have an association with the late Mr Ahmet Ertegun Founder Chairman of Atlantic Records who died 2006 and graduated from St John's College in 1944. Ertegun was instrumental in Led Zeppelin's phenomenal success ... Mr Ertegun deceased was in fact from Turkey and was Turkish and he is survived by his widow Mrs Ertegun. The Ahmet Ertegun Education Fund contributes towards great educational objectives such as funding students from Turkey in this great work! Ertegun (deceased) was a native of Turkey.
