Often in the evening I take some time to surf and mostly its related to searching out research for my students in Literature in English with specific reference to Wordsworth's Daffodils or Keat's Ode to Autumn so upon this occasion I found a video clip from Tarkan who gave a live concert recently in London in Turkish and English which was attended in great numbers as Tarkan is a world star in these two languages ... so I heard and saw some of his work and found it highly entertaining.
With this song which is Turkish title/Havalin it has an upbeat tempo and Tarkan sings it with
a dash of that Turkish flavour that so attracts the Western Listener and once again one is drawn into the symbolism of the song and its presentation.
I particularly liked the presentation of the flute and the piano and stringed instruments and the view of Tarkan sitting on a sofa singing these words out in Turkish some of which I caught but I will only suggest a few ..how about .... "Ah" Ah" Ah" ........ translates beautifully into English and evokes the mood and sentiment of this song .... title/Havalin ... its a wonderfully refreshing approach to music in Turkish from the Turkish Pop Star Tarkan and I found myself positively engaged with it and was amused to see the
adoring fans all clapping wildly .. obviously its another great success for Tarkan!
Great songs great music from Turkish Pop Star Tarkan all the way from Turkey ... see you soon Turkey .. keep on working!
