It is a slick and small tool to have on your desktop (Just 1.9 MB). It provides a sidebar on your desktop with innumerable gadgets to add to it. Some of them may be listed down as under:

Google Desktop provides plenty of gadgets to choose from. Also many options have been included for each of the gadgets to suit them to our requirements.
Google Desktop provides the option of either keeping the sidebar either in AUTO-HIDE mode or
in ALWAYS ON TOP mode. when set to teh latter mode, all the windows that are opened are automatically resized rather than a part of the window hiding behind the sidebar. Probably the only limitation that you may witness is that in AUTO-HIDE mode, the sidebar hides wvwn if you just click anywhere on the desktop whereas it should hide only when a window is opened.
