Continued computerization of banks across globe and extensive usage of electronic cash can eliminate bankers, ATMs and paper
currency
maintenance. In future there will be few large banks which have a single large super computer grid with high speed communication network capabilities. If today's software engineers can automate all the banking transactions without the need for the bank's customer to viisit their branch then one day we will have a super computer grid with tight security and vigilance managing the wealth of the globe. I hope today's secuity specialists and disaster recovery personnel are smart enough to come up with a strategy to protect such computer grid from unexpected and expected casualties. So, our future bank will only have customers but no bankers or branches. It can have staff for maintenance of the super computer grid which manages the transactions of the bank's customers. Elimination of paper currency is another step towards
electronic cash and automation of banking.
