Becoming a professional listener is something I am proud of something I can admit to at last and my request was read out
on the BBC Radio 4
Programme .. Poetry Please ... which was my favourite ...Wordsworth's poem/Daffodils ... its nice to hear your name on the BBC Radio 4 Programme especially on Sunday afternoon!
However, it stimulated me to surf You Tube and I turned up with Roger
McGough reading his own poems .. A Fine Romance and some selections from Tartuffe by Moliere ............McGough wrote the script and he translated the verse from French into English .... he did French at school (what a coincidence so did I up to the age of 17)and he is in discussion with "Gemma" on direction acting and the facets neessary to get the script on the set on the stage ... the reason apparently was due to Liverpool being the Culture Capital in 2008 ... thus the focus on the Performing Arts.
I saw Roger McGough at Winchester about 20 years ago and he is still as good as he was then .. this time its You Tube online . nice work!
