1. Install a good torrent client
program. Utorrent ~28or µtorrent

torrent program that works on most PC platforms. Google or use your favorite search engine to search ~22bittorrent client~22 for a list of additional program choices. Install as per instructions included with the client.~3cbr /~3e
2. Search for sites that track bittorrents. Again~2c go to Google and enter ~22bittorrent~22 or ~22torrents~22 in the search box. Some client programs provide a search box to enter names of files or programs directly without having to locate a website.~3cbr /~3e
3. Look for torrents with a good seed/leach ratio for fastest downloads. The more seeds per leech the better. It may take longer if you have a slow internet connection~2c if this is the case~2c you might want to consider upgrading to your ISP~27s higher speed option as torrent transfers generate a lot of network traffic. Torrent files work in a ~22peer to peer~22 ~28P2P~29 fashion rather then a server to client ~28S2C~29 fashion. This means you will not
download the desired file~28s~29 from a server but rather from a number of other people who are ~22hosting~22 parts of the file needed. These hosts are called seeds. If a torrent has ~220~22 seeds don~27t bother attempting to download it.~3cbr /~3e
4. Download a torrent. Once the client of choice is installed and properly configured~2c simply double clicking a torrent file listed on a website should download the torrent file~2c which will then start the client program automatically. Once the client program has started~2c it should begin to download the program or file desired after it connects to the hosts that have the parts of the file needed ~28about a minute or so~29.~3cbr /~3e
5. Check speed settings. Sometimes your upload speed can reduce your download speed. In this case it might be wise to lower the upload speed limit of the torrent you are downloading.~3cbr /~3e
6. Keep seeding. After the download is finished~2c moving the file will cause the upload to other people to fail~2c so if you wish to seed ~28which is strongly encouraged but not mandatory~29~2c you shouldn~27t move the file. You can however~2c open or use it.~3cbr /~3e
