Presence of some of the best known IT Multinationals like IBM, HP, Microsoft, Dell, Cisco, Sun, Oracle, Google, Motorola, Yahoo, etc. has made possible transfer of hardware and software technology into the country. Internet has further bridged tjhe time gap ensuring arrival of the latest technology simultaneously in INDIA and the West without delay. The domestic hardware industry has witnessed groeth in the turnover and the profits, which is largely attributed to our liberalized economy. However it is on the software front, providing software solutions, application management ant IT services that India is truly a dominant world player. Several software giants have opened software development centres in the country. The number of professionals in this country is believed to have crossed 5 lakh mark and still there is a huge gap between the demand and supply of professionals which is an encouraging sign. It is believed 65% of the world's software application will now be producedin INDIA. INDIA is also exporting software to around 100 countries including many countries which are excludive buyers from INDIA. Many Indian IT companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, NIIT, Zenith computers, Satyam computers, HCL, L&T Infotech, STG, Pentafore software, Mastek, etc. are expanding themselves in abig way making them the Indian origin MNC's in IT. TCS, Infosys and Wipro are alresdy among the top 20 IT companies of the world.
