Message to the Citizens of Tommorow
“
Environment, climate, biological multiplicity……Alert is heard from all continents.
Nowadays It’s hard to find a person who doesn’t realize urgency of these
problems. We should struggle for the
future of the Earth and every country should contribute to protection of the environment. It’s high time people of the world cooperated in solving these acute problems.
Many counties face exhaustion of
natural resources nowadays and the only way out is “sustainable development”, solicitous attitude towards nature which gives an opportunity to natural regeneration of resources. I think that all countries need to unite their efforts in creating a long-term policy directed to preservation of our common natural heritage.
Many endangered species now face extinction. Starting from the beginning of XX century species extinct 600 times faster than they naturally should. One of our primary aims nowadays is to stop this process, otherwise our children won’t have a
planet to live.
Industrial progress of the XX century led to unexampled ecological crisis on our Planet. The most vivid illustration of the crisis is climate’s warmth, which is connected with the increased concentration of carbonic acid in atmosphere and appearance of greenhouse effect, diminishing ozone layer, which protects our planet from ultra-violet rays.
Economy of big countries is heavily reliant on industry creating numerous ecological problems.Positive changes have already begun in preserving and protecting our environment. Although there seems to be mixed views on which factor is more important: economic growth or environmental protection. I feel therefore there is an on going battle between the environment and development that one must understand and people must make their choise now.
20 years ago the Chernobyl catastrophy occured leading millions of deaths in Ukraine, Russia and Belarus of radiation sickness. It was a alert to our generation. We should be aware of our future and future of our planet. People are on the verge of self-destruction and isn't it high time we stop and think about the results of industrial progress and what we can do to improve this situation until its too
late?
It’s time to act, otherwise it’ll be too late to change anything…..too late.
