Angika.com has constructed by renowned Angika and Hindi writer Mr. Kundan Amitabh in year 2003. After observation of this website it is found that Angika is a
language of Anga or
Ang Desh (India), Nepal, Cambodia, Vietnam, Malaysia and other South-East Asian Countries. Angika is spoken by more than 50 million people of the world. Ancient India was divided into 16 large state units. Each such unit was known as Mahajanpada. Anga was one of them. In ancient period, the language of Anga was known as Aangi. This Aangi is now known as Angika.
Among other observations, following are important. In India Angika is the first language /dialect of Hindi Apbhramsha in which any literature was written. Saraha the famous poet had written the first poetry in Angika. Hence, his poetry in Angika was first written poetry of Hindi language also.
The
Sultanganj Buddha is 2.3m high and 1m at its widest point and weighs about 500kgs. It was cast by the technique known as the 'lost wax' process, in which a solid core of clay is overlaid with wax. The sculptor models the fine details in the
wax coating. The wax is covered with a liquid layering of clay and plaster, which hardens to form a mould. When heat is applied, the wax melts and molten metal is poured in. The finished statue is finally obtained by removing the outer casting when cool. The
Sultanganj Buddha conveys an image of calm and tranquility and a spiritual detachment from the material world. The Buddha's sangathi (monastic robe) clings so closely to the body that it is almost invisible, but for a series of string-like folds, giving the figure a wet-looking appearance. The right hand is raised in abhayamudra (a gesture of reassurance or protection) while the left hand, with palm outward and held downwards indicates the granting of a favour.
The temple of Angkor, the great historical legacy of Khmer civilization, stand majestically in Situ in north -west Cambodia. At the heart of the Khmer empire, Angkor Thome, for over 500 years from the ninth to the fifteen century, the monuments constructed by Anga-inhabitants (People belonging to Ang or
Anga Mahajanpada of ancient India whose language was Angika.) during 1200 A.D. belong to the classic period of Khmer art and are unrivalled in architectural greatness. The temples startle with their splendour and perfection but beyond the emotions they evoke lie complex microcosms of the universe steeped in cosmology.
Khmer art of the period includes finely modeled sculptures of startling beauty. Sensuous, yet never erotic, male, and female forms stand in grandeur and dignity offering universal appeal, past and present.
It is believed that the people from Ang region (Angika speaking region) of India used to visit South-East Asian Countries for the purpose of business since 500 B.C. or before. Later on, these Ang inhabitants had started to establish colonies. In this process
Cambodia (Ang-Dweep),
Vietnam (
Champa),
Pahow-Ang,
Kantoli,
Malaysia, and other colonial countries were formed and ruled by Ang-inhabitants. This temple is still considered as eighth wonder and is one of the greatest mysteries to be solved.
