The blasts in Mumbai shook the nation and killed around more than 200 innocent people. This is an act of crime and needs to be punished severely. The police suspected Muslims to be culprits and they were arrested. Nearly three hundred innocent Muslims were arrested and were released only after the public staged protests. The police have failed in its duty miserably and are arresting Muslims without any evidence. Terrorism has spread its roots in various factors, beginning with US/Israel policies in West Asia to issues of Kashmir and communal violence in the name of religion. A very careless communal attitude is displayed and the suspected Muslim youth are put in jail, while still others are being questioned. The division amongst the people on the basis of religion is a threat to national unity. The so-called patriots are creating a worst situation because of which intercommunity relations have worsened, threatening the unity and harmony of the nation. The Muslims have been living in sense of fear irrespective of their social standing. Many delegations have met the state Government and are trying to reason out with them. According to human psychology, if the innocents are in jail, they will be filled with disgust and will fall prey to enticement of human merchants. The Maharashtra Government came to conclusion that Bajrang Dal activists are involved in bomb making in Nanded, but did nothing about it. They decided to let this matter rest but are targeting innocent Muslims in many states like Maharashtra, MadhyaPradesh, Gujarat and other police administrations.
Harassing the innocents has displayed lack of professionalism. The President is asked to intervene and central/state governments are asked to act on the basis of evidence when investigating these cases. The Chairperson of the UPA is urged to stop the violation of human rights of minorities. The Prime Minister in his wisdom should look into the present situation and instruct the Government to see that legal, social and human norms are given due respect when investigating episodes of terror. The home minister is urged to advise the state Government and Maharashtra Government to stop dealing with minorities with senseless methods but should employ smart techniques when dealing with the situation. The innocent shouldn’t be targeted and the guilty should not be spared under any circumstances. The Government of Maharashtra and other states like Madhyapradesh and Gujarat should realize its responsibility and treat all citizens alike, irrespective of their religion, in accordance with the constitution. All the citizens are asked to come together so that the feeling of love and brotherhood can strengthen the integration of the nation. A balance approach to this issue will help overcome issue of terrorism, as succeeded to overcome long ago, the terrorism resorted to by Khalistanis.
