Motor Cycling and Ice Skiing

Website Review by: MAHIDHARSINGH

MOTOR CYCLING
Motorcycling as a sport enables cyclists to compete in such events as dirt-track races, endures or endurance
races and cross-country races. Dirt-track racing is a popular type of motorcycle competition. It includes races run on flat, oval tracks and motocrosses, which are run on rugged courses that have jumps, hills and other obstacles.
Motorcycle races are organized in a similar way to car races and are often held on car racing tracks. Competitions are organized internationally and held for different types of motorcycles.
All levels of riders can indulge in motorcycling opting either for a rough ride on challenging terrain or a relaxing holiday concentrating on smoother roads and shorter days.
Short loops can be completed in as little as three days, although in order to make an exciting loop deep into the mountains, expect to spend at least seven days on the road.
Most motor bikers ride from morning to sunset. Getting on the road early to make most of the day and enjoy lengthy stops throughout the day is the thing to do.
Ideally, you should ride with a group of friends and share your adventure together. Smaller groups will enable you to trek into remote areas with minimal intrusion to the local cultures.
The mountain bikers are easily available and are fitted with the right gears to reduce the effort. When you are ready to pack your bags, remember to check the water bottles, helmet, repair kit, etc. Clothing should be comfortable. A basic level of fitness is a must.
Biking in the high Himalayas is an inexplicable adventure. The Tarai forests along the foothills of Nainital and the hill state of Himachal Pradesh in India offer some extremely attractive areas for the motorcycling adventures.
With challenging terrain and outstanding scenery, speed is not the priority. There’s just too much to take in.
ICE SKIING
If it is the chill that thrills you then skiing is the best adventure sport that you may opt for in the World. Skiing is the activity that asks for oozes of courage but the adventure of successfully sliding down the ski slope is unparalleled too.
The idea of skiing dates back to post-glacial stone-age people who lived in the northern latitudes of Europe and Russia. Skis made it possible for them to survive the harsh winters by hunting game.
Skiing in North-Eastern Asia and India was introduced by Europeans. The snow-capped hills of The Alps, The Himalayas and The Rockies have played host to the skiing sportsmen over several years. The length of the run gradually increases and so does the determination to achieve it safely. The natural twists and turns and the slopes in the Alps and the Himalayas offer the best of the skiing opportunities.
Take the challenge to be at the hills in the freezing temperatures during the months of December through March. Winds gushing by while skiing is the most exciting part of the adventure sport.
Though no licences are required for skiing, those suffering from high or low blood pressure should not indulge in skiing.
With ever increasing number of the skiing enthusiasts, the skiing slopes in unpopular skiing resorts have also improved with time. The increased facilities are easily available and are affordable in many major skiing spots worldwide.
India boasts of several scintillating skiing spots like Auli where the snow-beaters and other sophisticated machinery are available to keep the slopes fit for skiing. It is the annual venue for the National Winter Games Championships in February/March. Some other ice skiing spots are in Gulmarg, Pithoragarh and Solang valley.
Be appropriately dressed to brave the extreme weather conditions. You must take along with you enough warm clothing, dark glasses and heavy boots. You must also learn how to deal with high-altitude sickness or high-altitude madness. Protect yourself from snow blindness, frostbiting and sun burning during the expedition.
