Is vegetarianism a fashion and nothing more? People choose to be
vegetarians or vegans because it sounds
nice or because there stars and icons are? Is something more to it or not? We will try to understand more why people choose to make this step and become
vegetarians and why not bring some of the real reasons why people decide for a diet without any kind of meat.
So why people are becoming vegetarians?
There are a variety of reasons. Many people switch to a vegetarian diet for weight loss and improved health. Others feel that it is moral or spiritual issue. Some individuals deplore the suffering of animals in modern factory farms. Still others are concerned about the environment and world hunger. A few just don’t like meat.
It is good or bad for your health?
It is healthier. Vegetarians are healthier than people who eat meat. It's a fact. Scientific studies show that vegetarians suffer much less from illnesses like cancer, heart disease, and high blood pressure and have no risk of obesity. So as we see humans do not need meat to stay healthy, as for long time was believed, but it is even recommended to eat as little meat as possible or even exclude meat from our diet. Vegetarians are healthier then the meat-eaters and are much more protected to illnesses.
People are carnivores so how it could be unhealthy?
False. Although many modern humans eat a wide variety of plant and animal foods, earning us the honorary title of "omnivore," we are anatomically herbivorous. We have much shorter and softer fingernails than animals and pathetically small "canine" teeth (they're canine in name only). In contrast, carnivores all have sharp claws and large canine teeth capable of tearing flesh. If humans had been meant to eat meat, they would have the sharp teeth and claws of carnivores. Instead, their jaw structure, flat molars, and lack of claws indicate that they are best suited for a plant-based diet. Our stomach acidity is much lower in comparison with the extremely acidic stomach juices which carnivore animals have, which helps them digest their meat and which protects them from bacterias. Every year in the United States alone, food poisoning sickens over 75 million people and kills more than 5,000. While carnivores can process all the saturated fat, protein, and bacteria in animal flesh, a meat-based diet can send humans to an early grave. Clearly, people were not intended to eat meat.
Psychological we are not designed to eat meat at all. While carnivores take pleasure in killing animals and eating their raw flesh, any human who killed an animal with his or her bare hands and dug into the raw corpse would be considered deranged. Carnivorous animals are aroused by the scent of blood and the thrill of the chase. Most humans, on the other hand, are revolted by the sight of raw flesh and cannot tolerate hearing the screams of animals being ripped apart and killed. The bloody reality of eating animals is innately repulsive to us, more proof that we were not designed to eat meat.
If somebody decides to be a vegetarian concerned about health problems he should know that he is doing much more than taking good care of his life. In fact he is doing and helping other people too, he is protecting the environment and to not speak about saving the lives of animals which are suffering in the meat industry. It is a very humane choice. Hundreds of millions of animals are killed in slaughterhouses around the world. In the US, some half a million are killed each hour. Animals suffer enormously in the process. Quite apart from the terror of being killed, they undergo pain and fear through routine stock mutilations and during transportation to sale yards and abattoirs. They are raised in dark, sunless sheds where they are fed a diet of processed foods full with antibiotics and hormones. We would be horrified if our pet cat or dog was treated ithis way, so why should we subject other animals to such cruelty? The fact that the killing is done soe else makes it easy to eat meat but, by eating it, we are really condemning the next animal in line.
If I don’t eat meat what I will eat then? If you put meat out from your plate that do not mean that you will not have what to eat. It is really the opposite.
