If you ever wondered if their was a site where you could actually find out about travel destinations with an unbiased opinion, how would you like over 2 MILLION unbiased opinions? Virtualtourist is a free website where you can find out the latest travel deals, learn about other countries, plan a trip, find cheap airfare and more just by connecting with other people who have visited countries. If you're a bit of a world traveler yourself, then you'll like the fact that you can build your own guidebook, complete with a map of the places you've visted. Whether you're looking for ideas for a trip to London or an exotic vacation in the Amazon Rainforest, the site has everyplace that you could imagine (or maybe not even fathom) a person going. I quickly discovered that there where areas that were so remote you had to hike in and yet what would you find? Maybe just a great restaurant in the middle of nowhere. Tips ranged from the scary - " Men with guns like to shoot at passing cars"- to the rather amusing " Sage brush is a somewhat comfortable substitute for good ol' TP!" . Clearly I was not as seasoned a traveler as the average Virtualtourist member.Having discovered the site through a friend while in Kenya, I quickly became a seasoned pro with the easy to use features and soon I was a know-it-all on all things Kenyan. Still, it helped me out when a fellow Virtualtourist contacted me with a great tip about banking and local customs in a place so remote, I was surprised to get any info on it at all. Soon I was getting tips on everything from local cuisine to how to greet people in the local dialect. I felt like a group of tour guides were traveling with me.I guess it just goes to show you that nobody knows how good a place is except real people.. NOT Orbitz, NOT Travelwise, NOT Fodor's.. REAL PEOPLE. So, what are you waiting for? Go to www.Virtualtourist.com today!
