If you think you have Freedom OF Speech, think again. This is a site that proves beyond any doubt how little you can believe of what is reported to you. The greatest lie is always that of omission, but many stories reported to us are biased and in some cases, blatantly dishonest. The CPBF does what it says on the tin; it dares to report the unreported and campaign for greater freedom of media information so that we get the truth instead of what someone wants us to swallow. At the time of writing this, (September 30th 2006) the CPBF pages are naturally dominated by stories about the so-called War On Terror. There are some very scary statistics. Only twelve percent of the Thousand Muslims arrested on suspected terrorism charges ever get taken to court. Many are simply victims of systematic racial harassment and police brutality. In the US, The New York Times is under fire for daring to criticise the Bush administration of monitoring the bank accounts of thousands of US citizens. In Denmark, the journalists who dared to state that there were no weapons of mass destruction in Iraq before the war began there have been arrested, some considerable time later. The CPBF needs support, through donations, memberships and discussion on its forums, as well as journalists willing to break silence on problems they face trying to get the real stories out to the World. The more our basic freedoms of expression are eroded, the more we need a campaign body like this. The site is concerned with the way the media will kow-tow to Government pressure, and the media moguls like Rupert Murdoch who own a major monopoly of what we see and read and hear about news wise.
