Do jobsites really work?

Website Review by: Clarisserby

Write your abstract here. As an active jobseeker how many times have you visited one of the myriad of employment web pages
that we are now swamped with only to find that you have not been matched with your perfect job. As a frequent job hopper, due to commitment phobic tendancies coupled with the frequent temptation to take off to farther reaches whenever the leaves start falling from the trees, I have vast experience of surfing these loathesome laborious sites. Each one with their neat format of drop down menus from which you can select your job area, job location and salary expectation. Then the magic "search" button that fills you with hope as you desperately seek to secure your next source of income. Then follows the downloaded page that offers many different jobs, up to twenty per page, only one of which comes close to matching your requirements. As you click on job that half measures up to your job requirements, joy promptly turns to misery as you realise you have a fifty mile commute every day. I can honestly say that in all the time I have spent trawling the employment pages of the world wide web not once has an opportunity directly arisen from these endless hours of surfing. Sure I've had the odd phone call from the agency but more often than not they have suggested a different more appropriate role that they have. So yes it is a great tool to put you in touch with agencies, but as for finding your dream job - ahhh forget it..... do yourself a favour and cut out the web pages, contact the agency direct. That way you can deal with a human, far better equipped,I find to analyse your suitability and assess your skills than any computer.
