Over the past few years,
photographs and photographers have given us a different impression about them.
The idea of a photo camera was thought by theGreeks and theChinese people in 4-5th century BC. So since that time people wanted to immortalize different aspects and images important to their lives. However, it wasn't until the early 1800 that the first pictures were taken, so, until this date, howhave people accomplished their need to leave their visual aspects known thorough time? They started drawing what they saw and imagined.
And that's how the early forms of picture were created. These can be mostly found on the caves' walls, graves, ancient temples, etc. After satisfying that need, man wanted more from his drawings. He wanted to express himself through his drawing, to immortalize anger, love, pain, joy, random thoughts, historical events, and so a new type of art was invented. The art of drawinghas been vastly exploited and varies from a simple crayon drawing on paper to a golden mosaic in a famous church. It revealed so many geniuses through time like Da Vinci, Rembrandt, etc. and helped them explain themselves the best way they could. It showed that you need some skills in order to make a good
painting which would remain in the pages of history.
With the arrival of the photo camera however, man could keep hisvisualmemories of his friends, his life, family, etc. much easier, without the need to have certain skills, in the most exact mode there can possibly be, by taking a photo. This simple action created less interest for drawing something which exists andyou can see in front of your very eyes, and turn the attention towards
photographs.
Now that we all have computers and there is not so much interest in going to the museum to see beautiful paintings, art, the photographers thought of bringing art into our computers. So they create virtual pictures which we store onto our computers, admiring thus a new type of art, a virtual art, photography. AsI was sayingearlier, in the latest years, photographers havetried to accomplish the same thing a painter with his brush can. Adding concurrence to this, this new art has been very welcomed into our lives. We can see in a photo a simpleportrait, but we also can see art: pure, real, undeniable art. Of course, with the modern means, like Photoshop, you can edit that art a little to get the best of it.
So, basically, how we have paintings in our houses, so does internet have photos hanged by bytes. I'd say that the digital camera replaced the brush, and the bytes replaced the oil, colors and the paper.
