Website Review by: meepster

The stumptuous.com website is a labor of love by a woman - Krista
Scott-Dixon - who wants to teach other women how
to improve their
health by lifting weights. She debunks the myth that weight
lifting is somehow "unfeminine" or that it will "bulk you up", teaches
many common exercises such as the squat, the deadlift, the pullup, and
many others (with pictures showing how to do it right and how not to do
it), and outlines many weight training programs that beginners,
intermediate weight lifters, and advanced athletes can follow.
Very importantly, she describes the modifications to certain exercises
that must be made to accommodate the differences between male and
female anatomy. She also provides information about common
injuries that occur in weightlifting and how to prevent them,
inspiration for those whose motivation is flagging, and information on
proper diet.
Krista's enthusiasm for strength sports and fitness is infectuous; her
style is funny, lighthearted, and fun to read. She constantly
scours the Web for new information regarding health and fitness, and
posts it on her blog; she keeps trying out new exercises and new
exercise equipment and writes about her experiences with them; and it
is clear that she loves fitness, loves to teach, and wants everyone to
know what she knows.
Most importantly, Krista debunks the myth that has plagued the fitness
industry for decades - the idea that women need to lift tiny little
weights in order to "tone" their muscles rather than heavy weights that
will 'bulk them up". She is very passionately opposed to the
"little pink weights", and repeats again and again that female muscles
are just the same as male muscles, and need to be trained the same
way.
Overall, the stumptuous website is well worth reading if one decides to pursue a fitness program.
