The Wild Experience: Wildlife Parks of India

Website Review by: PRADIPTA PATI

Visiting the wildlife parks are really awesome experiences for us. For a while, we will be thrilled to know the Nature, which
also includes flora and fauna, the other part of the Nature that is free from the human dynasty.
The greenery will surely catch you to its own world of enthusing adventure into the animal kingdom. Hey, wanna to go on a drive to the Nature’s World of Kingdom? It is astounding experience for me, when I was on visit to Simlipal National Park, 320 km from Bhubaneswar, Orissa.
Situated in the Mayurbhanj district, Simlipal is a 2,750 square k.m. sanctuary, and a Project Tiger Reserve surrounded by twelve rivers, park’s hills, waterfalls and dense foliage with almost 95 tigers along with a number of other species of Indian wildlife like elephants, deer, leopards, gaur bison, sloth bears, reptiles, langurs, crocodiles and more than 200 species of bird life.
Endowed with Sal trees, there is also a wide range of local flora along with at least 82 species of orchids to account for. The beauty of the Barehipani waterfalls with a 400-metre, and the Joranda waterfall with a shorter drop of 150 metres, will surely trace you to its world to feel the beauty of the Nature.
With a core area of approx. 850 square k.m., the National Park has the habitat of the tigers, where visitors are not allowed. You will be the lucky person if you see a tiger wandering there nearby along with the other species. Apart from the Lulung entrance (approx. 30 k.m. from Baripada), the park has its entrance from Joshipur, 65 k.m. from Baripada, where you will be delighted to see the Crocodile Centre, a habitat of the crocodiles.
To enter the world of Simlipal, you have to collect entry permits from the Field Director, Simlipal Tiger Project, Baripada, at least 10 days before, or 30 days from your visit. For application, you have to carry a copy of your passport in case of the foreign tourists, and a proof of identity.
The foreigners have to pay Rs. 100 and the Indians, Rs. 5 each. You have to pay extra if you wish to take cameras inside the park. You can reconfirm about the details of the said entry rules and fees from the Simlipal Park Office at Baripada.
The nearest railway station is Balasore, 60 k.m. from Baripada and about 110 k.m. from Simlipal. You can also avail the roadways facilities from the city’s bus stations. Otherwise, you can depend upon the taxis from Baripada. The park is open for the tourists from November to June. But it is recommended not to visit the place in the month of June due to the high temperature of approx. 40 degree centigrade.
The forest department provides bungalows within the park at Barehipani, Newana, Joranda, Joshipur and Gudgudia. Lulung and Joshipur have other tourist lodges and hotels without any luxuries. But it is recommended to bring your own bedding and food as well.
For further information, you can ask any government tourist’s offices, and also, avail the booklets regarding the place from the office itself. So, what are you looking for?Have avisit, and have the thrilling experience like me…
