Xforums is an online
forum style website that advertises itself as "the
last bastion of intelligent
discussion." This online forum is
different from most that I have visited in its maturity. It is
not your typical forum for people who use "leet speak" or abbreviations
such as "lol" or "omg." Using proper grammar is a rule on the
forums, and refusing to adhere to that will get you banned. There
is a method in place to prevent spammers and trollers as well, keeping
the
boards free from annoying ads or garbage.
There are several different boards on Xforums, including "general
mayhem," "sex, love, and intimacy," "technology," "
media," "forum 42,"
and "ADD Theater," as well as several special topic boards.
General mayhem is for your basic
topics, ranging from "post your
pictures" to threads to
Discuss various news topics. Sex, love
and intimacy discusses just what it says, but manages, usually, to
avoid junior high schooler type immaturity, while allowing openness and
ease of discussion. Technology is your typical board for geeks to
discuss any and everything technological, and media is for discussions
of various online things, tv shows, and movies. Forum 42 is
the place for discussion of items of philosophical or religious nature,
and ADD theater is the place for you if you are into roleplaying.
There are other boards for several different webcomics, where fans of
the comic can come and discuss topics related to it, or just chat with
others who like the same comic. The forum has quite a few
moderators and admins, all of whom are on the boards frequently.
The forum is free, but if you enjoy it enough you can become a
"premium" member to help support the forum.
Other features on Xforums are a private messaging system, ability to
update your profile and personalize your signature and avatar, a lovely
design layout that is classy and appealing, and a friendly, open, and
inviting atmosphere. If you are looking to have an intelligent
online discussion, or just meet friends without having to dig through
