Most
teenagers nowdays are obsessed and influenced by all those stupid and useless cultural trends, having their brains filled
with more and more useless junk out to label them in some category, be it Gangsta Rappa, or Freak or what not. No, It's not the music they listen to, its the people who play and advertise that music, and the way they push their useless trends down their throats. Have you ever wondered where most of those trends start at? If you have, you must have come to the conclusion: Television. And the most powerful example for such television, is MTV. Now, not only that MTV now chooses to focus not on truly all music, as in being a Music Television, but rather on a certain cultural trend group, and mostly their so called music. MTV Chooses to cheapen peoples
values by passing their way of dressing and behaving as trends, and
teenagers quickly apply those trends to themselves. Now, the need for trends is understandable. Every little sheep wants to belong to a certain herd, but the way people have no personalities today is simply bad. Now as a matter of fact, I myself am a teenager, and I think I can relate best to their wish to become trendy and popular. MTV is no longer about music, it's about selling all those teenagers new identities and cheapening their worth, turning them into people lacking any distinctive direction or personality, people who choose to walk the path ofsome singer, talk the waysome singer talks or behave the way some musician behaves. MTV is simply no longer Music Television, it is a platform to sell out trends for everyone to follow. Isn't it about time kids start thinking for themselves? Isn't it time for them to dress the way they would like it, instead of the way some singer dresses? Many female singers on MTV dress slutty, especially Cristina Aguilera. Many girls want to be just like them, and also dress slutty. Is that ok? MTV teaches no values, MTV HAS no values. MTV does not stand for Music Television, MTV stands for trendy television that would surf any wave that could prove profitable for them to sell unto teenagers, turning them into whatever is "popular", be it slutty dressing, smack talking, or cheapening something unique by selling it unto everything that breathes, making another trend for mindless teenagers to follow instead of developing their own personalities. MTV is Irrelevant.
