National eating disorders association suggested 12 ideas, to help people with eating disorders.They are, taking food regularly,
in reasonable pattern. It advised not to skip meals. It suggested that considering health effects of eating habits is better than considering the physical appearance. It advised predicting preparing mentally in getting over the uncomfortable family interactions. By taking advise of physicians and dieticians one can avoid the self –destructive coping attempts to get over those uncomfortable family interactions. Before visiting others homes and before inviting others to your home it is good to know where the exits are where your support persons are. Prior imagination of time to make brief exit, attaching to needed support. Sharing pleasures and feelings with others, and having fun with them helps. Thus a person can be deviated from rigid focus on food or body concerns. Choosing some friend and calling them or spending time with them, when ever the person is suffering with negative thoughts, struggling to control addictive habits.Making a prior vision of place and time to get a real pleasure and peace of mindAnd heart. And acting according to it, by spending some time to Nurture them selves into their thoughts. Making good goals on the things to do during holidays. The goals should be about doing some thing, but they should not be about preventing some thing. It is good to be flexible in thoughts, expectations from others. Getting relaxation in the holidays and avoiding perfectionism, and rigidity id good for mental health. It is always good to be active in support group. It is not good to be isolated from support group. There are several groups, which help people with eating disorders. They are12-Step group, co-dependency group, eating disorder therapy group, neighborhood "Bunco" game group, and religious or spiritually oriented groups.They are suggesting that a decreased sense of stress decreases from attaching to addictive behaviors and adapting harmful coping strategies. They are suggesting that cutting down unnecessary events and obligations and allocating some time for relaxation, contemplation, and spiritual renewal. It is good not to miss enjoyable important events in life. Even though they are small they give a sense of gratitude and peace in life.
