Thank you for checking out this abstract, the subject is The hip hop industry and file sharing.
Think back, do you remeber
about the time that cassette tapes were released into the world, did you ever record a song you just had to have while sitting on your front porch boppin our head, well i know i did, and if you say that you didnt, thenwell in most cases either you were asleep through the last era of technological importance or you just had more money and less time than the rest of us.
Now some
people will make the argument that if we dont buy music, then no one will continue to make it, to me that sounds like a load of crap. Music as an artform has been around for countless years, the earliest of mankind had a way to express themselves with a rythmic voice, these days music is based on okay talent and incredible money, its like anything though really in todays society if you have an incling of talent, then you want the most you can get for it.
simply put, file sharing if offered by the artist is it okay then, both sides could argue but both would be wrong just the same in each others eyes. i believe that if albums are
going to sell, then they are going to do just that. some people dont have the tim, opportunity or in many cases the money to go out and buy their favorite artists music, is it right to cheat someone who is a fan but cant have the same opportunity as someone more fortunate.
In my eyes file sharing has opened a doorway into the realm of true musical expression, individuals come together and relay information to each other on a level playing field, society today as a whole is in desperate need of more understanding and cooperation towards their fellow peoples, im not saying that we not all in this for something individually, im saying if record sales can still reach upwards of the multi million sales figures, then where is the harm really.release a great product and eventually the true fans whether they download it at the time or not will still more than likely one day walk into their local record store or bodega and walk out with the album or single they have coeme to appreciate so much that they are will to support the artist in order for them to continue to create something that moves them.
file sharing is not going to go away, its going to be up to the people who run the music world behind the scenes to realise this and find a way to compromise wth individuals who feel that in this era its sometimes just better to download.
"I AM€ANADIAN MIXTAPE DJ, I DEAL WITH THESE ISSUES ON A DAILY BASIS WITH PEOPLE TAKING MUSIC WE RELEASE AND PASS IT ON, MY UNDERSTANDING THOUGH IS THAT AT LEAST THEY CARED ENOUGH TO TAKE THE TIME TO FIND INTREST IN WHAT I HAVE AND THE PEOPLE ON THE RECORDS HAVE DONE."
