Photobucket

Website Review   by:Melik

Photobucket.com is an online image hosting site that allows users to upload pictures onto the site, for posting elsewhere on the web.  Photobucket is free to sign up for, which is a wonderful benefit of the site.  This type of site is wonderful for people who have online blogs or journals, or who frequent forums that allow picture posting, as it allows these people to post their pictures on those sites simply and easily.  It is also good for people to post pictures of items that they are attempting to sell on Ebay. Photobucket is simple and easy to use.  First a user must register on the site to create their own username and password, free, of course.  Then the user signs in and is ready to begin.  The album of the user is empty at first, and must be filled up by the user with any pictures that he or she desires to upload from their computer.  A user can upload up to nineteen pictures at a time.  The user either enters the file name into the blank, or browses on their computer to find the specific picture or pictures that they want.  The user can also add a tag or title for the picture, or show the original file name of the picture.
Allowed file types on photobucket are jpg, gif, png, bmp, and swf, allowing for a wide variety of pictures to be posted.  Photobucket automatically resizes any pictures over 250 KB, which is quite handy for making pictures a managable size.  Once pictures are uploaded, a user can edit them, changing either the size, name, tag or title, or rotation of the picture.  The user can also choose to delete pictures at any time.  The link for the picture is listed 3 different ways below the picture's thumbnail, for easy copying with the right HTML based on what a particular site uses.  There is, in order to be a free site, a small ad bannar at the top of each page, but it is not tremendously obtrusive.  Overall, I would say photobucket is an absolutely fantastic site for anyone interested in posting pictures online.
