Other people's typos save you money.
That is the tagline for
fatfingers.com, an indispensible
aid for anybody who bids on eBay.
In a nutshell,
fatfingers will find you auctions on eBay (you can select which national eBay site you wish it to search) where your chosen item has been misspelt. Searching dozens of common spelling
mistakes, it redirects you to eBay, and returns the auction results.
It can't be denied that this will often save the bidder money. As most people search on auction sites by keyword, rather than by category, all these misspelt items are in effect hidden to the masses. And as most people listing their item will kick it all off with a low starting price, you could find yourself a real bargain.
As well as knowing that I've saved myself a few pennies, I also like the feeling that I've got one over on those people who don't pay enough care and attention to their listing. Having sold on eBay myself, it does take a little while to list an item - logging in, uploading photos, deciding when the auction will begin etc. So why on earth can't they take the time to ensure there are no spelling mistakes?! I don't suffer fools gladly, and I think that is why fatfingers appeals to me.
