Well at last it has fallen on my lap to write my own blog as I
have been doing for some considerable time for others
worldwide.
As far away as San Francisco, California Literary Review, the Middle
East, or Istanbul in Turkey so the world gives me a moment or two
to take stock and here goes.
I have for years been teaching English at home and Overseas which
was preceded by a brilliant career in Diplomatic Service, London,
Banking and Computing so you imagine it was a challenge to
set foot in the classroom at only 30 something. But as a result
of my endeavours I have been retired and unlike my illustrious
career preceding /teaching/ I am left in the lurch ... so I venture
forth albeit gingerly into the world of the Professional
writer ..
so far I have received the Outstanding Email for Contribution in
International Poetry but no money ... its all for /charity/as John
Lennon and his illustrious team repeat from the grave on
the Imagine DVD - they are absolutely 100 per cent right.
The words that spill out in University''s Academic Classrooms and
seminar rooms have stuck to me like a stamp to a letter and the
attention is drawn to this writer to focus on
CLICHE ..
/cliche/ means - hackneyed
phrase or
idea and I wonder if it
relates to "Hackney" London. Well I am home and dry as I
taught there ... full time ... and what do I get for it ... nothing ..
but poetic praise and might I add that my
work has been
described as CLICHE driven ... I suppose there is an element of
punning but then the master tongue is English not Irish/Gaelic
and when the users of the language are not native to this Isle then its up to me to make the correction.
My writing for all that is wholly truthful is not CLICHED it is not
a hackneyed phrase or idea ... its totally original, fresh
and
excellent in everything that is printed out ... and has
been acclaimed here in the UK as such ... I was awarded
The Forward Press Pen for Poetry in the UK in 2004 ...
so students look to this
correction as my ultimate
correction on the subject of my own work and take it
as read that when I say my work is "excellent" then
I back it up with all that I have done and been honoured
for the high quality of what I do herein as ...
