Well its nearly the end of the month and I thought in spite of the floods
just around the corner and the biblical sense of doom that pervades
the land I would go and do some shopping and on my way back I
collected my dry cleaning.
It was interesting to see that all the fine wines are on offer and of course
I was immediately drawn to the section: entitled; Italian wines and the
broadcast on Radio 4 BBC was correct ... the price was marked down
So I then moved in and out of this big store in the UK and bought
fresh vegetables and a can of peas at 25p - so life cannot be all
bad ... no ripoff in that sense at all.
I had some potatoes already stored from Rajiv''s shop around the
corner and on the back of the packet there for my delicate taste
buds was a recipe for Med. potato mash - so I worked hard
and produced this Med Mash Potato and together with my
peas, sausage rolls, tomatoes, and Italian wine with tap water
I enjoyed lunch on the patio before the floods wipe us out
down here so far South.
Back to back and all in all - it was a reminder of how things
used to be - as in today''s world so many people are
suffering from addiction to wine drugs and poetry and song
that I am relatively free of all such indulgences - but I noted
the ever present personages from our local Catholic Church
in force - and wondered if they were buying wine for Sunday
mass or were just in for the discount offers on meat: veg:
Excellent food at Waitrose in Southampton''s Portswood Store -
on the way out I stopped off at the Blue Bus Stop and was in
conversation with a lady and agreed wholeheartedly that I
would still take pleasure in cup of tea - the perfect cuppa!
keep on reading the blog --- excellent stuff from
