I thoroughly enjoyed it ... it was wonderful to be invited to
the Art Centre in Southampton''s Bedford Place to a
PoetryEvent
of readings and
music with a film backdrop based
on the work of Andy Warhol and New York USA:
I spoke with Gil of Gil and Natalie fame and they are forefront
in organization of this amazing event. We were surrounded
by great paintings produced locally with colour and texture
of a vibrant nature.
The time taken to enjoy is not ours forever and I arrived early
and dropped into a Kebab Takeaway cafe and listened to the music of
Istanbul and a little song dedicated to that beautiful City - it was
warm inviting and relaxing.
Gil has got his work accepted and produced in Hollywood USA which is
great news ... as its so hard to get anywhere as an amateur so he is
well on his way to financial success - lucky Gil! - he is from Israel and speaks highly
of the city of Tel Aviv describing it thus as a mini New York with a great
US influenced culture ... the languages of the city are Hebrew, Arabic and
English ...
I found this event on the website from the London
Poetry Society and I certainly
am pleased that time permitted to attend. I spoke with the presenter about
the notion of performance and was glad to transfer my enthusiasm for poetry, art
and music.
