I thought for a moment I was back in the Sixties and the birth pill had just
been invented for our generation of women and that the Catholic Church
has banned its use .... parents and teachers believed it was causing
a sexual revolution ... no longer did girls have to worry about getting
pregnant unexpectedly and they just had to drop a daily pill and everything
for the first time ever was totally revolutionary ... they referred to it as the
period of "Free Sex" ...
But other matters were high on the agenda ... after a few years of girls on the
birth pill who were not at all upset about the Vatican ban on Birth control ... since the Pope declared that partners i.e. wives and husbands could sit on the bed all night or
play the "safe period" in which to have sexual intercourse when they lady is least
likely to conceive ... her big moment in the monthly cycle ... and HIS!
But then the doctors began to worry the girls about the long term effects of taking the birth pill and they discovered that those who took it were likely to get cancer of the
cervix or womb or generally speaking ... the pill was causing cancer ...
So they still monitor our generation of women about the taking of the pill for
contraceptive purposes ... and expect us to get cancer ... fortunately I am not on the band wagon of /pill poppers/and immediately it was "set up" for health reasons ... i.e. it reduced the period stresses and allowed one the freedom to work relatively free from pregnancy anxiety ... I was banned as a Roman Catholic ... so I didnt get cancer and gave birth to two sons one after the other .... in terms of what was to come ... well read my book
