Sometimes when you are alone in a crowd on a busy bus and everyone is talking
to each other or "at" you ... if you are like me you want to get your pen and notebook
out but the bus is too crowded and the passengers are leaping on and off the bus so its best to sit quietly until you reach your destination and then commit everything you heard
or saw or that stimulated your imagination to your great and lasting memory.
Such was the occasion yesterday that the weather here in England is still too hot
for one to relax into the proverbial
black polo neck sweater and lean against
the lamp post and scribble away ... I tried to do that and the bus driver
immediately turned on the central heating ... and my fellow passenger who was dressed in a whiter than white
cotton shirt and black pants jumped up and opened every single window in the downstairs
compartment of the bus.
So you can see that nobody on the bus
gets a moment to themselves to write a line or two ... I thought the other way out of this dilemma is to drop into the
library and quickly speed read the large
print books ... some gentleman immediately decided to shadow me ... and followed me around the library rather like a man chasing a woman in one of those thrillers that I keep on my DVD shelf in the flat ..
So the writing finally gets down .. in the blue period ...and its pure joy to get in down
in print having committed it to
memory over the last several days ... always keep up to date .... excellent conversational club on board the bus ... in Southampton... UK...
