The dream machine is born ... National Poetry Day in the UK and the Club is on a national tour starting in London ... onto
Cardiff .... onto Belfast at the beginning of next month .. I suspect its about poetry awareness as the great poets even though they are long since
gone their great verses and rhymes live on ... they have become immortal.
With all the modern favourites ... I am sure the lid wont be closed on my coffin until they have thrown roses at my grave and engraved my headstone with Wordsworth''s immortal words ... or some saying or other from Keats Romantic Poetry. But then the religious flavour takes over and it could be a biblical inspiration such as ... Do onto others ... Thy Will be done ..
Love one another as I have loved you ... Forgive your enemies ...
I will never know as I will have passed on but today I went browsing around the City Cemetary in Southampton and noticed that the graves were overgrown and green and that they
were once beautifully inspired and inscribed and now are covered in weeds long grasses
and flowers ... I felt quite emotionally touched by the silence of this cemetary and I picked up a twig and stuck it into the ground into one of the graves on the righthand side of the cemetary as you come in from Hill Lane in Southampton ... God grant them eternal
rest ...
Sobering thoughts today in Southampton ... excellent stuff ... keep on reading the blogs ...
