Now you know what I like ... why MY Vienna of course and I have spend a good
few hours frequenting the cafes and restaurants of that famous society.
I have walked the length and breadth of Vienna and enjoyed its fabled history its cloisered corridors ... its castles of tradition and last but not least its German pronuncements ...
Have you heard of the story about the lady in a cafe who asks for a coffee ... and the Austrian waiter replies: You mean an Eine Cafe! Nonsense! replied the Lady ... "I am in the
Eine Cafe! .... very amusing .... certainly for the language teacher ..
As for the writer there is much to get down in print and many stories evoke many tales out of school. I was so enthralled with Vienna that I contacted the Academic Tribes there and they were fairly user friendly about teaching in it ... I figured it out that if all those jokes
were translated by me many times ... why not take it further ... how many times have you heard the question: Where are you going with this ... a resident poet of course and now a famously paid European Playwright .... that''s a deal of excitement and great news for me ... my first ever Congratulations! was received about my work in Vienna ... well, I did work round the clock and phone my European Boss and write his play and so on ... everything good comes to those of us who just sit and wait ... about writing in Vienna no problem at all! Confirmation received from European Employers last night!
