One of my favourite former employers always replies in his velvety cool voice that he is staying at the Holiday Inn in London when he comes and goes there on business ...
I was working in London and decided to get the Board to take this notion on and now
I stay at the Holiday Inn an American Chain of Hotels in London England.
On my last visit I was staying in an air conditioned room with tea and coffee making facilities and an en suite shower unit and wardrobe etc., with a desk and notepads ... and of course the Telly ... where we would we all be without the Telly!
After my business is completed I usually go to my room and relax for the remainder of the evening before I pack my bags for the South and return home to the flat ... but on this occasion there was no time to do my usual routine ... there was a tube strike and even though the strikers had lifted their embargo nevertheless the tube was still not
fully running so it was a question of asking the desk politely to order me a taxi to get to my Venue ... I got there through heavy traffic .. but on the way back it was the same ... and I caught another taxi back and walked the rest of the way back to the Holiday Inn Express Hotel in Hammersmith London.
My feet were sore from walking and I assure you I was relieved and glad to return to my Hotel ... and relax and clamber down next morning for my much awaited breakfast .. if as on St Patricks Day I chance to have a moment or two to spare I spend time writing ..and that turned into a successful trip also and my stay at the Holiday Inn Express Hotel in Hammersmith London was well worth it .. my poem /London Underground/is now published this month in Poetry Now : Southern Poets Anthology published by:
www.forwardpress.co.uk so I was pleased yet again to have the time to myself to get on with my writing ...
Excellent room at Express Holiday Inn Hammersmith London England on 7 September overnight stay till 8th September 2007 ... and I left my baggage in the locker room while I went off to my bank to get some cash ... everything was secure ... was safe and sound upon my return ... enjoyable experiences ... keep on reading the blogs ...
