Now is the season for weddings and happiness and it excites the spirit when a friend
announces that her son is getting married ... its strange how time passes and the
feeling of childhood in one''s children continues throughout life ... even though one
long ago realised their departure from the nest was permanent ...
My own wedding is a frequently discussed event though that was many years ago ... and I thought that it never did quite made the Society Page in Weddings Magazine ... friends point out that it certainly made an impact if nothing else .. however I usually add the statement that it was recorded in Business News 1968 by IBM ...
I and my then partner were invited to a Society wedding in Ireland and never was there
a wedding like it before or after ... it was not least quite enjoyable and the guests were best dressed and the whole episode was quite magical ... the dress worn by the bride
was pure white and the 2 bridesmaids were just the right height and shape and pagegirl
was in keeping with the traditions of the time ... that particular wedding was a long time ago but it was recorded in the Ulster Tatler ... and so it should be.
Family weddings ... a very big event in California USA ... and my eldest son was
dressed elegantly and so was his bestman ... the attendents and bridesmaid was sister of the bride and she looked the perfectly presented matron of honour ... the bride''s
dress was much heralded and was beautifully crafted and worn in a highly fashionable style .. it was costly but worth it .. the reception afterwards was held "at home" and the relative of the bride was the Chef of the Day ... food was positively excellent ... ah! a great day .. talking about weddings .. and much appreciated and enjoyed ...

wedding .. I guess I was 5 years old was a very Tall Event ... and was held at home .. the
Donnan wedding was a big affair in the village and was held at the big hotel around the corner from the Church ...
