Moving out of Forward Press was not an easy task and as I was reminded I had published 71
Poetry Anthologies ... won the Silver Pen for Poetry in 2004 and the
Forward Press Pen for Poetry in 2005 ... so it was time to move out and on from this type of company and try my hand in the big and universal
world of commerical publishing.
I had a go and got a contract for 7 years and it was held to be a "traditional" contract so no problem at all with it except of course for the money .... I still have been accused of being all about art for art''s sake and not having had enough remuneration or return from the
commercial world for all my
writing .... so I was pleased to discover however despite the Hand Book from Forward Press a gift from them on Poetry
getting paid and getting writing by Kenneth C Steven ... that I got the book signing at last after a long hard fight and it was held in the prestigious London Poetry Cafe in Covent Garden London so nobody has yet
complained about it ... I reread the Handbook on /starting back/in this world of writing writers and publishing companies but I hasten to add that I did manage to SELL my book
ROCK ME .. and it has "sold" but is not a
best seller. The Handbook has a marvellous joke all about Book signing .. sitting pretty at Waterstones Bookshop on Saturday morning and not
selling a single copy of the book! Phew! that was close!
All Congratulations to Forward Press and the amazing support I got from them over the last ten years ... will keep you posted!
