Authors awards and more besides ... great prestigious prizes ... a history of winning every prize ... the 84 year old Norman
Mailer has been taken into hospital with lung trouble but is making progress so it seems from the Associated Press blog!
Only last weekend his wife was featured and she is ill as well but seems to be fighting back rather like her husband.
Norman Mailer has won Pultizer Prizes for his books ... The Executioner''s Daughter and Armies of the Night and his first book was ... The Naked and The Dead ... his
career stretches over a considerable period of literary history.
Certainly lung disease is a desperate condition and sometimes it seems that its hard to kick it off without possibly a visit to the hospital. I can now speak for 5 minutes without coughing but I would like to pass on a tip I got when teaching in Turkey in 1999 ...
drink some tea because its a soothing drink and helps your throat and lungs recover from
the pressure they are under teaching and talk talk talking ...
I wish Norman Mailer a full and
excellent recovery and I hope that his wife also
manages to maintain good health ... what a pair they are ... possiibly its
connected with their activities .... a good run in the park or a walk in the dark ... these are all remedies I recommend but only if Doctor permits .... if one in the UK ever suggests to an ordinary person that the way to kick say, obesity or coughing problems .. and I suggest exercise ... the reply is usually "Thanks" but "No Thanks" to my advice. Why not!
Well the public ask ...well! its because I am not a doctor nor am I a Ph.D but only just tonight I received an email something of a surprise from America ...as follows ..
