During my illustrious career and looking forward in
time to meeting all my
commitments while at the same time listening
in on Sunday mornings
after mass in Ireland I hesitantly tuned into the Parkinson Show and the
times I have got my pen and note book and scribbled down a few lines
and really meant to mail them off to Parkinson are too numerous to
mention. Its the odd afternoon in Ireland when living there that it
wasnt raining ... in fact poetically it rains every day and 3 times on Sunday so Parkinson''s
Radio Show on BBC 2 was a welcome retreat from bad weather.
I can remember with vivid clarity when I dropped into the Shelbourne Hotel
Tea Lounge to meet with my partner and family and nobody was there ....so
I stood gingerly beside the Doorman''s desk and didnt wish to move into
the Tea Lounge in case the family missed me. However I was persuaded
by the same Doorman at the Shelbourne Hotel in Dublin Ireland to take
a seat and have a cuppa and take the weight off my feet. Who should I
bump into but Michael Parkinson in full flow and in fine form .. that was
about 1992 ... and fortunately I had the
time and energy to enjoy
the tea, the conversation and a cheese sandwich at the Shelbourne
Hotel in Dublin Ireland and ..... Parkinson was doing it too .... great
radio show ... Parkinson''s Radio Show on Sundays ... keep on
broadcasting with the BBC ........... great listening .... excellent stuff!
