James Joyce the
great writer from Ireland is still a world favourite in the specialist field of English ... taking a walk back to his great books such as Ulysses, and other books ... there is more written about the writing of James Joyce in my own lifetime than any other writer from Ireland that I have ever taught or written about myself.
James Joyce has a great readership I discovered latterly in Europe and when I was teaching in Czech Republic I was surprised at how influential James Joyce and his writings actually are still in the recent teaching done in Czech Republic i.e. in Prague!
James Joyce according to the information now available was a great
influence upon last year''s
winner of the Nobel Prize for
Literature in 2006 ... Orhan Pamuk who seemed to enjoy the notion of Joyce and Dublin as a major literary influence in that Nobel Laureate Winner for Turkey ... and in Pamuk''s life ...
I was first introduced to Joyce at 16 and loved the folklore surrounding the writer though some may be a little bit imagined for the true academic nevertheless the talk about Joyce and his writing kept me spellbound even when I was at school.
Great literature .. keep on reading ..
