This arena this blessed plot or whatever way you wish to define Alan Bennett the world is a better place with him rather than without him. I was listening to Matthew Paris and he was discussing Thora Hird who died as an ancient of days ... and Alan Bennett the playwright turned up on this radio programme when least expected.
In fact I had been tuning into a programme on current affairs and again I caught the sounds of Alan Bennett and as a result of actually listening to what Alan Bennett was saying rather than evaluation or criticism I decided to write to The Queen of the United Kingdom and I got a reply ........ Alan Bennett is obviously my inspiration.
I gather Alan Bennett has won many awards for his work .......... and he is a pleasure to listen to on BBC Radio 4 even today .......... great playwright, great plays ... keep on writing and reading plays ..... great stuff!
