Cinema is my forte ... I was brought up on it ... I teach it ... I watch it ... and it lives within me and beyond me .. . or so it seems from a recent
blog from the Turkish Blog on Turkish Cinema. The
writer comments that the writer has had a bad run in with Parkers /Midnight Express/ made in 1978 which the writer comments depicts Turkey as .... kebabs, coffee, raki (alcohol) and rave ins of different sorts and unless one is into odd sex
Cinema the writer claims thats not all Turkey has to offer ... apart from the Muslim Islamic slant or chant ........ oddly enough I never did discover any of this material when In Turkey or At Home in Turkey .... but I did see Midnight Express .... I thought by now it was a rather dated
version of all that hippy culture i.e.. travelling all night on Turkish buses ... by the way the other word the writer mentions that is a vogue word is "boss" .. well, I guess, that is something I did encounter in Turkey but then I was a sort of a
boss myself at different points in the UK .... a State Boss - Lady be
Good ......... Thanks to the writer on the Turkish scene i.e. Turkish Cinema (and Englands version of Turkey).... Bram Stoker and Dracula thrown in for good measure ... I like the writers
choices ... unlike my friend The Engineer who likes his own choices probably a secret at present ...keep on blogging from Turkish blogs ... USA ...
