At the present world rats are scaring animals but in the Karni Mata temple of India, they are roaming freely and comfortably. The rats known in the name of Kaba’s are owner of the temple .The story behind the temple is that the power of the temple Karni Mata (the Goddess of Durga) brings back a dead child of her devotee from Yama (the God of Death). After this incident, the Goddess announced that no one from her tribe would fall into Yuma’s hand again, instead, when they died all of them would temporarily inhabit in the body of a rat (Kaba) before being reborn into the tribe.
Devotees who visit the temple gave offering to this holy Kaba’s. The Prasad that the devotees consuming from the temple is the remaining water that the Kaba’s drink. The miracle is that, there no disease related to rats has been found here up to this date. The noticeable factor about these Kaba’s is that they are innumerable in numbers but they never come out of the temple boundaries. In the temple there is no trace of how these Kaba’s are reproduced and neither a trace of baby rats.
