Article Review   by:SM THOMPSON

English Pen have blogged the bulletin and apparently they have been doing this recently to all of us who are long standing members of the Poetry Society in London and last Christmas English Pen invited me to write a translation
from Turkish into English as they had no one around who could do it so I obliged, but I digress and the news
here from English Pen is listed as follows:

English Pen Bulletin at the Poetry Parnassus - Literature knows no frontiers ..

exciting poets, rappers, spoken word artists, singers and storytellers for a largest poetry festival ever staged
in the UK; all four of PEN's programmes will be taking place in June and the

featuring poets from 2OO countries and

Writers in Public
Writers at Risk

and English Pen have featured all their programmes in this blog.

The programmes seem interesting enough for the purposes of capturing a large and international audience
and an international readership as I am a reader at Southampton University and I found the whole presentation
quite captivating.

However there is no reference to expenses or to the costs that these festive programmes must run up
so I assume that all of the participants are well funded and do not have to concern themselves about
shortage of money in these hard times we all find ourselves in June 2O12:

It seems as if people's resources are stretched to breaking point and would it not be wise to cut back

go to the wall; we all play our part as the Bard wrote viz Shakespeare and the play in my case
became the focus of the day as after 1O years as a hobby it is now published in the US late last year in
