Pinterest! Got quite a lot of buzz when it just started. But what is it? For me, it's like Tumblr all over again, but with a really cool layout, a really slick interface...and it doesn't try to pretend to be what it's not. What do I mean?

Well, Tumblr pretends to be a blog. It's not a blog! It's a place where a few people upload cool (and then some stale) pictures of random objects, and where millions of others 'reblog' those to their own 'blogs'. There's an option to write text but I don't recall the last time I saw someone actually write a complete blog post with text that actually means something. So yeah, Pinterest does away with all that. It's a virtual pin board, and it's all about images, and images only!

Pinterest works by letting you create any number of virtual pin boards, based on different topics, styles, whatever you like. You can create pin boards for Architecture, Pets, Food...Favorite Movie Posters, Favorite Album Covers, Furniture, Cars, you get the idea. So create a board, and start pinning pictures! Using the bookmarklet that you can install from Pinterest, you can open any website with the images you want, and click on the bookmarklet to add the images to whichever board you want. You can also browse Pinterest and re-pin images from other Pinterest users. And of course, you can upload your own! Fill up your boards, share them, and...yeah, that's it.

But Pinterest shines - the reason behind this is the fact that it just works so well, so easily, and it just makes sense. It doesn't feel annoying like Tumblr does after using it for a week. And that layout, the way it all works, the interfact - it's just beautiful! Very clean, very slick, very fast...yeah, very nice indeed

So, if you're like me, and you're fed up with Tumblr, and you just want some place to share some really cool pictures, view other people's really cool pictures, and yet keep things fresh and interesting, join Pinterest! That's what you've been looking for all this time. If you're a Tumblr blogger and you're looking for the option to write on Pinterest, cmon...Tumblr wasn't the place for that either - get a real blog if you want to write! But again...join Pinterest!
