Surely all of you reading this, have at some time or another kept up with some unknown person via Internet… the options abound, from chat rooms to pen pals…. the results however, are always the same: All of the sudden, someone frequents your screen, telling you about his life while patiently listening to yours... I find it fascinating, but at the same time disturbing, to realize how people are in a quest to fill those gaps of solitude led to by our crazy world... I find incredible the fact that two total strangers can find themselves in a conversation, that they would never carry on with the simpatico gentleman who's been selling you your newspaper for the past five years... Don't you know him better than this curious Nick who's writing you?...
Somehow, I don't know how nor when... that stranger with whom you’ve carried on, is suddenly transformed into "something"; and without wanting, we return to our childhood as we rescue our dear friend "Jack" (invisible to everyone but you); all the while our head marches ahead full force, creating him skin, eyes, a voice etc… for our newest favorite…. "something".
Finally one morning you wake up and you have a "hologram"!! which you have finely tailored based on a mix of words and lack thereof and above all your imagination…Suddenly this somebody in some corner of the world understands you best (this always happens.
.) after all he already has a face, or better said you took care of furnishing him with a new one…
Now this "something" becomes "somebody"….with a body…looks…and at times you even find yourself hearing his voice.. his words no longer sound like echoes in a empty space, rather they are warm and comfortable, like the feeling of a fresh cup of coffee….and it's peculiar because your "hologram", while so real to you is nothing but a mirage, an illusion… the reflection of a lie invented by you to alleviate your wounds…
But such a great lie it is! what if all lies were like this one!
NOTE: The term holgram although not used in this context in English, here means to imply a complete 3D being.
