Recovery from elections is an essential part of life ... but there is no rest from it all.
Jacque Chirac has now stepped down and its Adieu Jacques Chirac and
Bonjour Monsieur Sarkozy .. a bit of a moutful even at the best of times.
Apparently Chirac has been the longest serving Politician in the history of
Europe and he has clocked in 40 years which is truly amazing ... in some
parts of the world, its met the man in through the revolving doors, because
he is sure to be the man out in the same revolving doors, generally speaking,
but I am not pointing the finger at one particular country or set of politicians at all.
On with the story of Jacque Chirac ... he was The Mayor Of Paris for 18 years,
and he supported liberalism in his relationship with America in the 1980s.
There are wonderfully evocative photographs of Jacque Chirac on the
blog in
Guardian Unlimited ... and it reminds me of that estatic
period of
black and
white
film and photographs ... it creates a place that is peaceful or
tranquil and the horror of the blusher or bright red hair goes by the by
and its wonderfully disguised, by the black and
white film and photography
industry, of that period.
In fact, in my drawers I keep a black and white photograph of myself and
colleagues and partner in Paris in the 1970s ... we all look so elegant, so
chic ... I think we belong to a bygone period in Politics, Art, Film,
photography and might
I add ... Literature ...
Excellent blog .. Guardian Unlimited .... Yahoo.com ... keep on reading ... the blog ... excellent stuff!
