Ciao is one of the premier consumer websites, aimed at European buyers mainly and using English as its language. However there are a number sister sites based in other countries and they can be accessed through the site I am reviewing here and hopefully this write up will act as an overview to them as well.
The idea behind Ciao is that it is a portal for product information. Once on the site navigation is easy, just find the category you are looking for, be it books, cars, food, hi-fis or thousands of other products and find the specific item you are researching. Under this listing will be a number of independent reviews written by people who have personal experience of the item in question. Using these reviews you can compare similar products and read an unbiased description of the item, written from personal experience. Below this there will be a list of links to sites where the product is available, prices and all the relevant details.
The site is free to join, but like I said you don’t have to be a member to use it, the site makes its money through advertising, but as a member the site really opens up. As a member you can write your own reviews that are commented on and rated by other members and result in a small payment on a monthly basis. You will also be allegeable to participate in surveys that also are rewarded by small payments. Be warned the payouts to be had here are very small so don’t think that you will get rich. If you do chose to get
