Consumer durables:-In early days man had to face many hardships. He had to do all his workmanually by his hands. He had to
save himself from cold weather. He hadnothing for entertainment. He ate wild animals and fruits. He had noresources to preserve any food.With the passage of time man invented new things to comfort himself.We will discuss some consumer items that were made to decrease thehardships of man. These items when made were not commonly used byeveryone due to some reasons, as some items were not very popular thateveryone could use it at once and some people cold not afford it.For example when man felt very cold during winter. So heating system wasdeveloped to make him warm. Then with the passage of time, man made lifemore easy and whole houses were made centrally heated. This was not verycentral heating system. This

In 1974 the percentage was 43%, then in 1976 it was 48% &\u003cbr /\>so on in 1983 this percentage became 64%.\u003cbr /\>\u003cbr /\>Similarly for entertainment television & video were invented. Television\u003cbr /\>became popular right from the beginning. The percentage of people using\u003cbr /\>television in 1972 was 93% and so on in 1983 it was 98%. Video was\u003cbr /\>invented afterwards. So in 1983 its usage was 18%. So different items\u003cbr /\>were developed to comfort a man. To clean the house, vacuum cleaner was\u003cbr /\>invented, to preserve food for some days refrigerator was made. For\u003cbr /\>washing clothes washing machine wa made. For washing dishes & utensils\u003cbr /\>dish washer was made. The most important thing when we needed to talk to\u003cbr /\>anyone who is at a far away distance then telephone was made.\u003cbr /\>--------\u003cbr /\>Achievement that I am proud of:-\u003cbr /\>\u003cbr /\>When I was a child, I used to see my father watching Olympics on T.V. He\u003cbr /\>was very fond of
swimming. I sat with him & watch that people swim in\u003cbr /\>water in different styles very well. Also we had a big size aquarium in\u003cbr /\>our T.V. lounge. It was full of beautiful colored fishes in it these\u003cbr /\>fishes swam in water from one place to another. I was always very fond\u003cbr /\>of looking to them. I loved to sit there & watch the fishes go from here\u003cbr /\>to there.\u003cbr /\>\u003cbr /\>Once I went to a picnic on seaside with my parents & other relatives.\u003cbr /\>There I saw a child, who was drowning in the sea. He was crying and\u003cbr /\>shouting for help, as he did not know swimming. I and other people who\u003cbr /\>did not know swimming were looking at him helplessly. At last a tall and\u003cbr /\>bold man came & stepped into the sea. He was not afraid of anything as\u003cbr /\>he knew how to swim very well. Thank god he saved the child. Everyone\u003cbr /\>thanked him afterwards & he was looking like a hero to me & everyone\u003cbr /\>",1>
