Several years ago I was in Edirne working in Turkey and in the course of my contract it was decided half way through that
the momentum was slipping somewhat and needed
gearing up. Putting Heads together is enough trial and tribulation for most of us but we came up with a phone a day call to Istanbul to sort out a
lecture or two on the subject of "Textiles".
So hastily grabbing my lecture notes I stumbled upon a new look at Textiles and the promotion of same in the classroom.
It is the intention of the textile industry to shed light on Tiles, Carpets, Designer
furnishings,.. and the student must at some point bend the knee to great oratory in the
halls of invention and academia and come up with solutions alone or with myself the tutor!
The 20th Century saw much in the way of Habitat and its wonderful economy and application of this business to ordinary households in Britain. But as one moved into the 21st Century, the other big stores offered such good deals that John Lewis led the way in roller blinds,
and sofas, and Marks and Spencer held to traditional textile designs especially in personal terms.
Textiles are included in Primark and I managed to buy some wonderful Textile cloth designs included in towels, bedding and the like.
Textiles ... woven or machine
knitted fabrics ...
This specific definition borders on other associations such as .... curtains,
tablecloths and napkins to be quite literal about it.
Textiles, the inclusion of /fabric/ is explained as follows:
Fabric ... cloth woven or knitted or felted material:
plastic resembling this
the frame or structure of something
the walls or floors
the roof of a building
A wholly comprehensive list ... excellent work in Edirne in the specialist field of English with specific reference to "Fabrics" glad to be of service .... keep on blogging..
