>How to be prevent accidentally
clicking a virus
1. The only trap that managed to trick me was DOUBLE-CLICKing. When I started to emphasize the 'explore'
mode to
access your
files and preventing yourself from double-clicking, they came up with the idea of autorun. So even if you view your disks in
explore mode, single-clicking WILL access the file. Then I started to emphasize on right-clicking files. It's a bit hassle for common users out there but although I manage to change the right-click menu, I haven't find a way to make it tricky. So I guess we are, so far, a step ahead of them. You can also refer to Part2.3 on how to get yourself some icons so that you don't need to right-click so often. NOTE: The term "access" that I use here includes but not limited to double-clicking and single-clicking, where you physically run it both directly AND indirectly.
2.Booting from an infected floppy disk or HD. If you ever need to boot from your floopy, make sure it is CLEAN. ALWAYS DISABLE AUTORUNS. RIGHT-CLICK CDs/DVDs/USB drives.
3.If you are practising virus debugging, my suggestion is NEVER RESTART AT ALL COST until you've cleared all system files and also registry to prevent Droppers.
