Man is not only the creator of
technology, but there is also a proces through which man becomes dependant on technology and
is formed by it. The mass-media history is marked by great technological mutations, which, in different stages modified the means of production, spreading and consumption of
information. Once the new webs or supports like satellites, electronic or optic devices were created, we got to live one of those mutations called digital revolution and which, we feel, will have important consequences on our way of communicating, work and entertaining ourselves. The study of the new technologies (NTC) of communication cannot, yet, be reduced to the study of use and effects -positive or negative on society. The creation of NTC is not only the result of an obvious scientific progres, but also the expression of public politics or economical strategies. Not everything can be achieved by
technology, of course: the functioning of communication tools is submited to some elementary rules and principles, taht we need to understand. But although technology has rigid elements, it is open to a broad field of alternatives and can be the subject of very diverse applications. This difference between the power to do of technology and the wiil to do of social actors illustrates the special connection every society has with technology, explaining at the same time, the diversity of the new technology''s effects. Each of us, the ones for whom the computer has become an usual and necessary object we found ourselves at least once so angry that we wanted to destroy the computer. And some people really succeded in doing it. Then, desperate because they had lost important information, they appealed to what they new from various sourcees to repair what they had done.( because we must admit that man is the main enemy of computer). In most cases, the recovery of data is done by specialized persons or firms. Our world is a mixture of exceptional promises, desirable evolutions and uncontrolled technological bursts., technology being ambivalent, the meaning of evolution- towards order and perfection or selfdistruction depending on man- which should impose high morality and responsability in using the immense energies and high technologies man posseses now. The acceleration of changesthe shock of the future, the impact of technology on nature and society , the passage to a high technology require technological education which will allow man to be abe to exploit better the new technology. Thus, man will be understood in his continuous effort to reach perfection, developing and multiplying his force and senses through instruments and machines, products of technology (telescopes, radar, new sources of energy); to communicate through sound and image (understanding and using the functional structure of an emission-reception); to extend in space and reduce the distances by means of transportation; to liberate himself from hard, repetitive work (using robots); to multiply his abilities to get informed and to work with information (understanding the functioning and exploiting the computers of different types); involving himself in creative works, and in order to reach harmony with nature and to avoid the lack of equilibrium, to learn constantly from nature.So, man uses technology to make his life easier, but he also needs a superior intelligence in order to maintain equilibrium.
